Swansea 'Hitler House' which looks like Nazi leader Adolf is available for 85 a week

The notorious house that looks like Adolf Hitler has gone up for rent for just £85 after it became something of a tourist attraction.

Landlord Clive Davies, 70, is offering the low price despite the house in Swansea rising to fame after the resemblance was spotted by a local youth worker in 2011.

People have arrived since to have their photographs taken outside the property in South Wales which has been in Mr Davies's family for generations.

Retired university computer analyst worker Mr Davies said: ‘I would never dream of charging more to live in the Hitler House.

The house's likeness to Hitler was first picked up by Swansea youth worker Charlie Dickenson, 22, whose picture of the house went global.

Mr Davies has converted the house, which has been in his family for many years, into two flats and it is now rented out to tenants.

He said: ‘There's been a lot of fuss since it was noticed. Just so long as I'm not expected to chant “Sieg Heil” as I walk through the front door.

Ironically the house was nearly bombed during the Second World War because it is so close to Swansea Docks.

It was previously a clothes shop, a florist, a newsagent and a TV repair shop before being converted into flats in the 1980s.

A neighbour said: ‘It is unfortunate but the angle of the roof and the door lintel make it look like Hitler. No one noticed for years but now we are on the tourist trail.’
